Just as the Town is responsible for managing tax dollars carefully, residents are responsible for taking part in municipal processes. We create a healthier community when both sides participate.
What is the process?
- The new budget survey opens in June
- Resident feedback now goes to staff before they start preparing their budgets
- Survey results give staff and Council a clearer picture of what Lakers want in the 2024 budget
- Staff and Council use the survey results to help plan and budget
Why do we need more than just a few Lakers to help?
- For this process to work, we need as many residents as possible to submit their survey
- The less people submit a survey, the harder it is for us to know if that's what the majority of Lakers want
What's in the survey?
By completing the survey, residents get the chance to:
- Prioritize municipal services and amenities
- Tell us their preferred tax strategy
- Tell us what services they would increase or cut, based on their chosen tax strategy
- Submit ideas for cost-free revenue generation
- Give general feedback
