August 19, 2026 Update

Paving of the second and final lift of asphalt beings August 23 and is scheduled to be completed by August 27.

Please expect lane closures:

• 47 Avenue between A&W and Walmart

During construction:

• Detour routes will be implemented at times when full road closures are required
• Access to residents and businesses will be maintained at all times
• Obey construction traffic signage and temporary traffic lights

Where do I find traffic interruptions and road closure announcements?

Why is this happening? What's the point? I thought the road was done.

• A second lift of asphalt is standard practice. We wait to install the final layer of asphalt to allow the road and surrounding areas to settle. This helps prevent cracks or uneven surfaces
• If any concrete removals are needed after winter seasons, or additional installations and landscaping are necessary in the area, they can be done without cutting into brand-new asphalt, keeping the final road surface smooth and clean
