- We are asking for your feedback before staff begin preparing their budgets for 2024
- Tell us what your priorities are by completing the resident priorities survey

Phase 2: Budget preparation COMPLETE
Building the 2024 draft budget (Internal)
- Staff use the survey results to help them plan and budget
- Staff from each division and department prepare their changes, increases, decreases, savings, new projects, and staffing requests
- Staff compile a document outlining the budget and changes
October 30 → November 18 2023
Phase 3: Budget deliberations COMPLETE
2024 Draft budget deliberations (Internal)
- Directors, managers, and staff from each department present their draft budget requests and information to Council
- Council asks questions, requests changes, and works with staff to ensure resident priorities are heard
- Council approves a draft budget
December 11 2023
Phase 4: Draft budget approval COMPLETE
At the December 11 Regular Council Meeting, Council approves:
- 2024 Interim Operating Budget
- 2024-26 Budget Plan for circulation to the public
- 2024 Capital Budget and 10-Year Capital Plan
January 31 → April 22 2024
Phase 5: Budget Final Steps
The final steps to approve the 2024 Budget are:
- January 31, 2024: Budget Open House, Wednesday, 4:00 – 6:00 pm (Location TBD)
- March 25, 2024: Council approves 2024-2026 Budget Plan
- April 18, 2024: Council gives first reading to 2024 Property Tax Bylaw
- April 22, 2024: Council gives second and final reading to 2024 Property Tax Bylaw
