Phase 1 - Explained
The first phase of the project begins on December 10, 2025 in the Beacon Hill, Crestview, and Vista neighbourhoods. Maintenance work will take place from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM to minimize service disruption for Lakers. Changes in water pressure may be observed during these times, but service to all residents will be maintained.
What work is being done?
- Upgrades to control, mechanical and operation of the reservoir
- Installation of equipment in the water storage tank to treat the water more efficiently
Seems simple enough. What else should Lakers know?
- The work being done in December 2025 is just the beginning; it will support future work
- On January 23, 2026, we’ll be taking 1 of the 3 water storge cells offline. This means no new water will enter the cell
- The existing water will NOT be wasted; it will continue to be available for residents. The cell will not be refilled until work is complete
- Lakers can support this process by being mindful of water use; conserving water during this time will help to support a positive water supply
- Work was completed successfully and required one less day to complete than previously planned.
