Direct Control Redistricting
Update March 14: Council approved the Direct Control Redistricting on Jan 27, 2025 (View page 43 - 93 of the Council Agenda for details). The redistricting replaced the direct control districts in the Waterfront area with more standardized land use districts. Please refer to the Town’s Land Use map to view the district information for a specific property.
Update December 2024: Waterfront area redistricting Council approved 1st reading of Bylaw 1908/2024 for the Waterfront area redistricting on November 25, 2024 and a public hearing is scheduled for January 13, 2025. Fulfilling the recommendation in the IMAGINE SYLVAN Sustainable Waterfront Area Redevelopment Plan the direct control districts in the Waterfront area are being replaced with more standardized land use districts. This will help streamline the approval process for development in this area and support the HAF objective to build more homes faster. View the November 25 Council meeting report (page 83).
