2026 Budget - Approved

On March 24, 2026, Council unanimously approved the 2026 operating budget. Lakers will see no increase to the tax rate in 2026 over 2025. However, due to an increase in property assessment values, and an increase to the provincial education tax, Lakers will see some increases on their bills in 2026.

No changes were made to the previously proposed budget. You can read more about the 2026 budget in an earlier news post.

The Town is sending out combined assessment and taxation notices the week of May 22, 2026. Here’s what you need to know:

• Payment must be received by the deadlines (read more about deadlines at sylvanlake.ca(External link))
• E-Billing: Don’t miss a notice or payment due to mail strikes. Sign up for e-billing(External link)(External link) today
• Property tax and assessment value appeal deadline: July 31, 2026
